Memories of Greg~

Sunrise Junior High School

7th grade, English/Social Studies block class, Mrs. Cho:

Mrs. Cho seated everyone alphabetically, so with me being an "M", I usually ended up in the center of the room at the very back of a row or right, smack, dab in front of the teacher's desk.  I got lucky this time & ended up the last desk in the row.  Greg, being a "K", was right in front of me & Randy Schriber sat right next to me, last desk in his row.  Well, Mrs. Cho was not an extremely exciting teacher so we found a fun way to "pass the time" -  trying to see who could get the most spitballs to stick on the ceiling.   Mrs. Cho was curious as to what was going on back there but never came back to investigate & when I saw her looking, I would hide behind Greg.  We weren't learning much but we sure were having a great time & Greg was grinning all the time.  Well, the inevitable happened, one of us got busted & it wasn't Randy or myself.  Greg was moved to "that desk", right smack, dab in front of Mrs. Cho's desk.  Randy & I continued the game but I have to admit, it just wasn't as much fun without Greg.  He would turn around & look back at us a lot but he was not smiling.  Just missing the fun I think.

Greg was a great guy.  So sad that his wonderful smile left us so soon.......................
