Thomas Skotnicki VIEW PROFILE

Thomas Skotnicki of White Bear Lake died January 7, 2016 of brain cancer at age 65.

Tom was born June 12, 1950 in St. Paul to Thaddeus and Hulda Skotnicki.  Tom lived in White Bear his entire life and worked his whole career in the food servie and equipment industry starting by flipping burgers at McDonald's when he was 15 and ending at Hockenberg's Foodservice Equipment & Supply as Vice President of Information Technology and Principal - a job, coworkers and a company he loved. Tom was intelligent, curious and quick-witted. He was a self-taught IT expert. Tom enjoyed designing and building things and could fix just about anything.  He loved to debate policy and politics and was an encylopedia of 60's music knowledge and inspired curiosity in others. Most of all, Tom loved spending time a the cabin with family, frienda and his dog, Gracie, enjoying a Tanqueray and Q tonic water after a pontoon ride around Lake Koronis. Tom is preceeded in death by his parents, Hal and Scotty, and his sister and brother-in-law Janine and Jack Zeimet. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Heidi and Stve Caskey, 5 neices and 2 nephews; other relatives and friends. Memorials preferred to the NC Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina MN 55435 or donor's choice. Funeral Service Saturday, January 16, 2016, 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5029 Zenith Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN.  Visitation Friday, January 15, 5-8 p.m. at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyncale Ave. S., Minneapolis and one hour prior to service at church.
