Marsha and I hung around in Junior High and then went on different paths in high school.  But not too long after I started at the Corps of Enginners in 1973 this smiling face appears and there is Marsha welcoming me "on board".  While we didn't work together it was nice to see her every once in a while.  For a while she worked for a really challenging boss (absolutely no sense of humor) which was hard on her with her love of life.  She made the move to work in the construction division when I went back to graduate school and I think she really liked it there.  She looked great in a hard hat.  She worked in North Dakota during the devestating flood of 1997 as a valued part of the team that fought a losing battle with the Red River in Grand Forks.

She died back in 2009 one day before her 59th birthday.

I am so confused.  I heard from Marsha - got a letter from her.  And that was after 2009...that is why I am so shocked that she died.

Thanks, Jody.  The link doesn't work any longer, but if you got it from there it obviously is true.  Perhaps I lost track of time and it was before 2009, but it doesn't feel that long ago.  We had a falling out that is a long and unnecessary-to-discuss story, but I am very sorry to hear that she died.  We were friends for a very long time.  She could be so much fun but could also be so complicated at the same time.  Anyway, thank you for letting me know.  Do you know how she died?  I have tried to look her up over the years, but never could find anything about her.  Now I know.  Thanks so much, Cathy

I was able to open that link and found the brief announcement on page 16.  It said she died July 12, 2009 :(.

Thanks, Marilyn.  Her dad died at a young age from a sudden heart attack.  I wonder if that didn't happen to Marsha too.  Anyway, I am sorry to hear that now and didn't know about it then.
